BriggsAmasco Maintenance’s reputation for rapid, effective roof repair led to the company’s selection for an urgent refurbishment at a popular community leisure centre.

The project, at Spiceball Leisure Centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire required teams to carry out repairs on the building’s main roof. Years of wear and tear had caused debilitation across the roof, leading to leaks onto the indoor swimming pool area.

BriggsAmasco Maintenance was selected by Parkwood Project Management (PPM) to complete targeted repairs on the 400m2 single-ply roof. Speed and efficiency would be crucial to the refurbishment. The leisure centre includes a range of exercise suites, as well as a dance studio, treatment rooms and a café. With such a range of activities, the state-of-the-art facility is a crucial element of Banbury’s social and cultural landscape. Hence, the roof repairs programme needed to be completed in good time and with minimal impact on the centre’s daily operations.

For the refurbishment, BriggsAmasco Maintenance teams repaired the main roof’s penetrations using Sika® Sikalastic®-625 N, a high-performance, liquid-applied polyurethane waterproofing membrane. This was completed following a comprehensive pre-repairs electronic test to identify pinhole leaks and areas of trapped water.

BriggsAmasco Maintenance completed the repairs in a live working environment, with operatives ensuring public safety was given the utmost consideration throughout the project. As part of the repairs programme, BriggsAmasco Maintenance undertook an intensive clean of the refurbished roof to remove any obstructive debris.

BriggsAmasco’ Maintenance’s selection for the Spiceball Leisure Centre project followed a previous refurbishment completed on behalf of Parkwood Project Management. Its team delivered once again for the client. The Spiceball Leisure Centre’s single-ply roof was fully-repaired within three days without impact to staff or visitors.
